Junior A Championship: Guide through the 11 clubs hoping to win county glory

Eleven teams will participate in the Junior A championship this season and hope to replicate what Na Rossa did last season, following their success in the county final against Moville. But who will come out on top in 2024

St Mary's Convoy

Manager: Lawrence McMullan

Last year championship: Lost in the quarter-finals

This year ACFL: Finished second in Division 3

First two opponents: Naomh Colmcille (a); Robert Emmets (h)

Prospects: Promotion was their number one objective in the league, and that’s exactly what they got, and despite losing the league final to Carndonagh, it was almost a perfect league season. The club has shown immense improvement from last season when they finished fourth in the league and were unfortunate not to make the championship semi-final. They will take a huge boost after achieving promotion and no doubt have taken lessons from their league final defeat to Carndonagh, With the best defense in Division 3, St Mary's men are in with a real shout.

Star man: Darren Bonner
