The winning Letterkenny GC side with the Ulster Cup
Letterkenny Golf Club is celebrating a historic victory after their Ulster Cup team triumphed in dramatic fashion against Killymoon, securing a 4½ – 3½ win in the Ulster Cup Final.
The match, played in testing conditions, saw outstanding performances from Mark P. McNulty, Keith Shields, Tommy Dempsey, and Declan Burke, each delivering vital wins. The decisive half point came courtesy of Darragh Heaney, sealing the club’s first Ulster Cup title in 13 years.
Heavy rain halted play for more than an hour, adding tension to an already tightly contested final. However, the Letterkenny side displayed composure and resilience, a reflection of the team’s dedication and preparation. Countless practice rounds and astute leadership decisions by Team Captain Derek Wilson proved crucial on the day.
The victory marks a significant milestone in the club’s history and will long be remembered by members and supporters alike.
