Thomas Drummond 200-Year Commemoration at Sliabh Sneacht Centre
Be at Sliabh Sneacht Centre for a celebration of the legacy of Thomas Drummond, who used a pioneering “limelight” device to beam a signal 67 miles to Belfast and make a breakthrough in precision surveying that helped shape Ordnance Survey mapping.

This special event will celebrate his achievement with a guided walk on the mountain’s foothills followed by an illustrated lecture by Dr Peter Wilson, exploring Drummond’s work and its lasting legacy.
With a maximum of 15 participants, registration and booking will be required.
The guide walk is scheduled for 3pm, and the Guest Lecture is scheduled for 5pm.
