What you can do in Donegal during National Heritage Week on Friday August 22

Events at Donegal Town's Franciscan Abbey, St Johnston, and Glenveigh National Park

The Foundation of People, Place, and Culture - Convoy

Deele Community Anglers CLG hosts this special aquatic heritage event at Convoy Enterprise Centre from 12pm until 3pm.

The workshops will highlight the core element that water has played in creating the all-encompassing heritage that exists  in East Donegal.

The event offers the community, young and old, an opportunity to look at the foundations of life and people in Convoy and its hinterlands. People would not exist here if water and the life it supports had not been so abundant. The event will aim to develop and promote the River Deele, Convoy, and East Donegal as a place where individuals, the community, and organisations are connected.

This event will include an electro-fishing demonstration by Loughs Agency staff. Trout and freshwater invertebrate lifecycles delivered by FROG CIC and our Deele Catchment Coordinator.

Refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the event.

For further information, contact the Deele Community Anglers CLG at riverdeelecc@gmail.com or call 075 82790166.
