Players from Donegal clubs have been granted sanctions to play in America over the summer, while further players have moved Down Under

Some big names in Donegal club football have been granted sanctions and are heading across the water for the summer to play in America.

Glenswilly duo Donal Gallagher and Daithi Gildea are set to link up with Donegal Philadelphia.

And St Eunan’s will be without talisman and former county star Niall O’Donnell, who is to line out for Padraig Pearses in Chicago.

USGAA sanctions are temporary transfers granted for players intending to play for a Club in an area governed by the USGAA Board from the first of March to the end of October in any one year.

Meanwhile, further players have moved to clubs in Australia.

Malin’s Daniel Houghton has joined Morley Gaels, with Moville man Tony McClenaghan returning to Greenwood GFC.

Downings goalkeeper Jordan Nugent has joined St Finbarrs, while Setanta and Robert Emmets man Conor McGettigan links up with Western Shamrocks.
