A Status Yellow wind warning has been issued for Donegal ahead of expected strong and gusty south to southeast winds on Friday.

The warning comes into effect at 12 noon on Friday, April 10, and will remain in place until 9pm that evening. Forecasters have warned that the conditions "may lead to difficult travelling, particularly on exposed routes, along with the risk of fallen trees and branches."

Donegal is among several counties affected by the alert, alongside Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo, as unsettled weather moves across the region. Motorists are being advised to take extra care during the warning period, while the public is urged to be mindful of loose objects outdoors that could be displaced by strong winds.
