Rain, with some spot flooding possible, for Donegal before a brighter afternoon

Wet and windy to begin today, Friday, in Donegal with spells of, occasionally heavy, rain, with some spot flooding possible.

Brighter weather with a mix of sunshine and scattered showers will develop for the afternoon. Highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees in strong and gusty southerly winds that will veer southwest and ease somewhat with the clearance.

Clear spells and scattered showers will continue in western parts of Ulster tonight, some heavy with the chance of hail and thunder. It'll become mostly dry and clear further east. Cooler than previous nights with lowest temperatures of 4 to 7 degrees in a light to moderate southwest breeze.

Tomorrow, Saturday, will be a bright day with sunny spells and scattered showers. Highest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees in light to moderate southwest winds.
