An unusual hole in the sky was spotted in Ireland, causing people to scratch their heads in confusion.
This Tuesday afternoon, February 20, people in Dublin spotted an unusual looking 'hole' in the sky in the Cherrywood area of the capital.
Met Éireann put confused imaginations to rest, as they confirmed the cloud-like phenomenon to be caused by a passing aircraft.
"It [fallstreak hole] happens when the supercooled water droplets in the cloud freeze and form ice crystals that become too heavy & fall out of the cloud leaving a hole," Met Éireann confirmed on social media.
