British runner Holly Archer will travel to Letterkenny on St Patrick’s Day to take part in the 3km race.

In 2021, Archer secured a silver medal for Great Britain at the European Indoor Athletics Championships after finishing second in the 1,500m, but only after she had successfully appealed, after initially being disqualified.

Archer started her career when she moved to the US at the age of 18 instead of going to University in the UK, in an attempt to reap the reward of a country that she claimed had the best coaches and facilities, al, that she needed to make her the athlete that she is today.

Despite not making it as a professional after five years in Texas, she returned home and continued training in the pursuit of achieving her goal.

Despite a series of injuries in recent times, Archer is now aiming to get back to her personal best of 4.07 in 1,500 and 15.52 in 5km by April to have any hope of making any conversation for the Olympics in Paris this summer.
