Hewick, the eight-year-old Irish trained race horse, cost owner TJ McDonald just €850.

In a nail-biting race at Ladbrokes King George VI Chase in Kempton, Hewick came from last place to first in a remarkable victory, netting €700k.

Trained by John 'Shark' Hanlon and ridden by West-Cork's Gavin Sheehan, Hewick's win was the highlight at Kempton Park's Stephen's Day race.

This was Hewick's fourth big win, previously taking home gold in the 2022 Bet365 Gold Cup at Sandown Park, the 2022 Galway Plate and the 2022 Grand National Hurdle Stakes at Far Hills, USA.

Carlow based trainer Shark Hanlon spoke to Racing TV after the win; 'I'm feeling great, it's just something you dream of'

'We've a small stable, we have one good horse and this is him'

'After this we might get a few better horses'
