Finn Harps and Cockhill Celtic learn their fate for the second round of the FAI Cup

Finn Harps will travel to face Cork City, while Cockhill Celtic will face Waterford in the third weekend of July in the second round of the FAI Cup

Fin Harps and Cockhill Celtic learn their faith in the second round of the FAI Cup

Darren Murphy's Finn Harps will face Cork City in July in the FAI Cup

Finn Harps will travel to face Cork City, while Cockhill Celtic will face Waterford in the second round of the FAI Cup following the draw this afternoon.

On the men’s end, the first round last month saw eight non-league sides book their place in the second round along with the four teams who had received a bye.

Darren Murphy’s side will travel to face the First Division leaders in Turners Cross on the weekend of July 19-20-21.

Unfortunately for the Donegal men, this cup fixture follows the week after Finn Harps play away in Cork City with Murphy’s team still having to play Cork City away in the league twice with the away fixture already being rescheduled when Turners Cross was not fit for use.

The pair have played at Finn Park twice this year, with a Jack Doherty penalty salvaging a draw for Cork in the first home game of the season after Success Edogun scored the opener, and more recently when Cork took a 2-0 win in Ballybofey.

For Cockhill Celtic, they face the long journey to the RSC, as the Donegal side look to cause an upset against the Blues who have enjoyed their FAI Cup runs in recent years.

The Inishowen side have had a splendid season, winning four trophies in the Junior division and recently recorded a 7-1 win over Ayrfield United in the FAI Cup first round.

Other top cup matches will see north Dublin side Bohemians hosting archrivals Shamrock Rovers in perhaps the biggest derby in the draw.

While we’ll also see a Louth Derby between Drogheda United and Dundalk as well as a meeting of the last two winners of this competition: Derry City and St Patrick’s Athletic.
