Ciaran Coll played his 150th for Derry City on Friday night.

Coll's appearance for Derry City in Waterford was his 420th in senior football also including his time at Finn Harps.

The St Johnston man played the 90 minutes as the Candystripes defeated Waterford 2-0 at the RSC.

Will Patching and Pat Hoban scored a goal in each half for Ruaidhri Higgins' side, who are three points off Premier Division Shelbourne.

Coll is in his sixth season at the Brandywell and has worked his way back into the starting XI again.

Higgins gave the versatile Coll a new contract and said during the closed season: "Ciaran Coll has shown brilliant adaptability in different positions for us this season.”

Previously, Coll - who had a spell at Hearts after developing through the ranks at Kildrum Tigers - made 270 appearances for Finn Harps.
