Donegal sides learn FAI Junior Cup last 16 fates

Cockhill Celtic are the bookie's favourites for the FAI Junior Cup

Buncrana Hearts, Cockhill Celtic and Letterkenny Rovers now know their last 16 FAI Junior Cup opposition following Tuesday morning’s draw.

Gary Duffy’s side, who defeated Harding FC 3-1 at home in the same competition at the weekend, have been handed an away clash against either Peake Villa of Tipperary or 2015 and ‘16 back-to-back Intermediate Cup winners, Dublin’s Crumlin United.

The Leinster Senior League side disposed of Letterkenny Rovers 5-0 at the Aviva in that 2016 decider.

Cockhill Celtic, Intermediate runners-up last season, have a home tie against either Galway’s Maree/Oranmore FC or Grange Vale AFC of Cork.

Gavin Cullen’s charges netted a fine 5-0 home win over Limerick-based Askeaton-Kilcornan on Saturday.

Finally, Letterkenny Rovers are on the road to Tipperary, away to Clonmel Rovers. Stephen McConnell’s outfit took a big scalp away from home on Saturday with a 3-2 fifth-round win over Mervue United at Fahy’s Field.

The full draw in full is as follows:

Pike Rovers v Ballymun United
Clonmel Celtic v Letterkenny Rovers

Gorey Rangers v Tallaght United
Old County FC v Villa FC
Trim Celtic v Regional United
Cockhill Celtic v Maree/Oranmore/Grange Vale
Peake Villa/Crumlin United v Buncrana Hearts

The sixth-round ties are preliminary scheduled for February 11.
