Letterkenny native Joel Gorman has signed for Strabane AFC in the Ballymena and Provincial League.

Gorman, who is 20, previously lined out for Letterkenny Rovers, Institute and Dergview. His brother Dale spent last season at Barnet in the National League and previously played for Yeovil Town, Glentoran, Stevenage, Leyton Orient and Newport County. Their father Anthony is the current director of football at Letterkenny Rovers, having played for a host of clubs such as Linfield, Coleraine, Portadown, Finn Harps and Sligo Rovers.

“Joel is a young player who I have watched develop over the last five or six years,” Strabane AFC manager Raymond Foy told club media. “He had a set back last year with injury but previous to that had made himself a regular in the Institute midfield during the 20/21 season. He was very enthusiastic about coming on board and it was obvious that he was keen to be part of the present and the future here at Strabane”.

Castlefin native Foy is assisted by Sean McGowan, formerly of Finn Harps, and Gorman joins fellow Donegal players Simon McGlynn, Jamie Murray, Aaron O’Hagan, Declan Sharkey, Jonny Robb and JP Malley at Strabane.
