Ciara Grant celebrates scoring the penalty.
Ciara Grant says she wants Hearts to keep going from step to step.
The Letterkenny woman scored a late equaliser on Saturday night as Hearts drew 1-1 with Hibs in the Edinburgh derby.
An away point maintains an eight-point advantage on their city rivals for Hearts in fourth.
After Eilidh Adams opened the scoring for Hibs on 21 minutes, Eva Olid’s Hearts had to wait until the 79th minute to draw level.
Republic of Ireland international Grant, who signed for Hearts from Rangers last summer, fired home from the penalty spot after Cailin Michie was fouled by Adams.
Grant made no mistake in beating ‘keeper Benni Haaland.
“I was quite focussed when the penalty came because I felt that we deserved at least a point,” Grant said.
“I felt like we deserved it. I’m disappointed that we only got a point.”
Grant, who will aim to be on the Irish squad for this summer’s World Cup in Australia, believes Hearts are making good progress.
The 29-year-old reignited her career at Shelbourne and landed a move to Rangers in 2022.
She said: “We have come on so much from the start of the year and we’re happy with where we’re going.
“It’s a great club to be at and every one is moving in the right direction and there’s great support here.
“The young players are eager to learn and get better and better. We’re happy to help with that, but we want to go from step to step in the next few seasons.”
