Letterkenny and Ulster prop Grace Simati
Letterkenny RFC player Grace Simati has been called up to the Ireland U-18s National Talent squad as the national team prepares over the next few months for the upcoming U-18 Six Nations tournament this spring.
Simati only took up the sport in 2021 and by the following season she was a part of the Ulster U-16 squad, having also been a part of the Ulster U-18 girls’ squad for last month’s interpros.
She has also been a part of the Queen’s University Rugby Future Stars programme.
The National Talent squad will see players take part in a two-day training course, with over 70 players involved before the squad is cut to make the final panel for the Six Nations in 2025.
Taking to social media, Letterkenny RFC said: “We’re thrilled to announce that Grace Simati, a standout player from Letterkenny RFC, has been selected for the Women’s National Talent Squad which is in preparation for the upcoming U-18 Women’s Six Nations tournament in Spring 2025.
“Grace spent her summer training hard with the Ulster U-18 Women’s team, playing as a prop, and now she’s headed to Belfast for further training. We couldn’t be more proud.”
