The news broke on Friday that Liverpool FC boss Jurgen Klopp would be leaving the club at the end of the season.

Klopp gave an emotional 25-minute interview on his decision to leave the Reds after years of success on Merseyside.

Since taking over in 2015, the German has guided Liverpool to a Premier League title (2020), a European Cup (2019), a FIFA Club World Cup (2019), a UEFA Super Cup (2019), an FA Cup (2022), a League Cup (2022) and a Community Shield (2022).

At one point in the interview, Klopp mentions Irish Liverpool supporter Dáire Gorman.

Die-hard Reds fan Dáire, a native of Monaghan, got to visit Liverpool's training ground and meet his heroes, including Klopp, before Christmas. Watch the emotional video below:

Speaking about the younger fans of the club, Klopp said: "Only recently we met Dáire, our friend. I probably have to explain it to him as well [reasons for leaving LFC], and I will, that's no problem. I really will try to do all these things."

Klopp's final game as Reds manager could potentially be in Dublin's Aviva Stadium if Liverpool make it to the Europa League final on May 22.

If they don't, Klopp will wave goodbye to Liverpool supporters on the final day of the Premier League season when his side host Wolves at Anfield on May 19.

The bookmaker's leading candidate to replace Klopp is former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso, who is currently in charge of Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen.
