Ethan Dewhirst, Erin Friel, Caoimhe Gallen and Caolan McFadden
Ethan Dewhirst will look to echo memories of his older brother Fintan's success when he goes in the European Athletics U18 Championships in Slovakia.
The Tir Chonaill AC athlete takes to the start line in Friday morning's 400m hurdles heats.
Glenties teenager Dewhirst is one of four Donegal athletes heading for Banska Bystrica.
Lifford-Strabane AC's Caoimhe Gallen will compete in the hammer, Caolan McFadden of Cranford AC lines up in the 1500m with Letterkenny AC's Erin Friel in the medley relay.
Gallen will be the first of the Donegal quartet in action in the hammer, which gets underway on Thursday morning at Národný Atletický Stadión.
Gallen won the U18 hammer at the recent National Juvenile Championships. Gallen threw the hammer out to 59.73m for gold.
Gallen reached the hammer out to 63.58m when competing in Palafrugell, Spain in early June to secure her spot and she will be eyeing a top 10 finish.
She is a daughter of Sharon Foley, who became the first Donegal-born woman to compete at the World Athletics Championships when taking part in the high jump in 1993 at the Gottlieb-Daimler Stadion in Stuttgart.
On Thursday evening, McFadden will be under starter's orders in the 1500m.
McFadden has clocked a 3:52.19 over 1500m and last month ran 1:52.98 and 1:53.54 in the 800m while he blasted to gold in a stacked Irish U18 800m, finishing in 1:54.57.
A 35 strong Irish team has arrived in Slovakia ahead of the European Athletics U18 Championships which take place in Banska Bystrica from 18-21 July 2024.
Fintan Dewhirst won silver in the 400m hurdles back in 2022 and Ethan will aim to follow those lofty footsteps in Friday's 400m hurdles heats.
Dewhirst hit the 400m hurdles standard at the May Open.
Friel is a part of the medley relay squad with the event scheduled for Saturday.
The Letterkenny AC woman won gold at the Tailteann Games recently. The Loreto Secondary School student won the 300m in 39.61 seconds and she has won the Irish U17 400m gold and 200m bronze.
