As the countdown to the European Under-18 Championships gathers pace, Letterkenny athlete Erin Friel had a good run out on Sunday.
Friel ran as part of the Irish U18 medley team at a graded meet in Dublin on Sunday.
The Letterkenny AC woman ran the 400m leg, hitting a high 55-second split as the Irish quartet finished in 2:15.40.
Elena O'Sullivan, Katie Doherty, Sophie Mulcahy also ran in Sunday's relay.
Two months out from the European Under-18 Championships in Slovakia in July, Friel is in a box seat to be on the plane.
Earlier this year, Friel won the Irish Indoor Under-17 400m, going 57.85 seconds, and added the 200m bronze.
The outdoor season began with victory in a 100m at the Fab 5 meet in Belfast, where she crossed the line in 12.77.
Letterkenny AC's Philip McGee won a 3000m in 8:39.63 at the same meet while there were silver and bronze medals in the women's hammer for Lifford-Strabane AC sisters Caoimhe Gallen (59.88) and Adrienne Gallen (51.29).
