Full results and gallery: Letterkenny 3k success for McGinley and Archer

Sean McGinley and Holly Archer were the victors of the annual St Patrick’s Day, St Bernadette's School 3k sponsored by Michael Murphy Sports & Leisure in Letterkenny. Please click on the arrows to see the results and gallery

McGinley, a native of Glenswilly who is a member of Finn Valley AC, finished the circuit in the men’s race in 8:34, just five seconds in front of Donal Farren of Letterkenny, with Oisin Toye, also Finn Valley, third just a further second back.

In the female race, Archer, who was the guest of the event, took the honours. In 2021, Archer secured a silver medal for Great Britain at the European Indoor Athletics Championships after finishing second in the 1,500m, but only after she had successfully appealed after initially being disqualified.

Archer, who runs for Cambridge & Colridge, clocked 9:41, with Leoni Cooke from Finn Valley next with a time of 10:19 and third place went to Angeline McShane with 10:38. In all, 154 finished the race.
