Raphoe’s badminton club were well represented last weekend at the Leinster Open, with three members returning home to Donegal with a gold medal each

Callum Laird and Rhys McAuley were on fire by winning the boys U-19s Doubles beating the top seeds in the semi-final and the second seeds in the final.

That success was followed by Corey Chambers who took home gold in the U-15 mixed doubles with his partner Hannah Shochan.

Chambers didn’t stop there and got all the way to the final of the men’s doubles but had to settle for silver after a good fight in the final.

The trio of players have been thriving over the past year when in December 2022 Chambers, one of the rising stars, won two Irish U-13 titles, while Laird took a silver in the U-17 boys doubles with Chambers bagging two bronze medals from the U-13 English Gold tournament.

While McAuley bagged a hat-trick of gold medals at the Connacht Open.
