Taylor Parke swoops into Junior Cadet final

Taylor Parke has his hand raised at the National Stadium.

Taylor Parke blitzed past Harry Reddington on Saturday to reach a Junior Cadet final.

Raphoe Boxing Club's 'Blonde Bomber' claimed a unanimous decision against Cherry Orchard puncher Reddington.

In a 35kgs semi-final at the National Stadium, Parke again impressed with a neat display of ring craft.

In next weekend's final, the Glenmaquin teenager will face Donnacha Beagan. The Sean Dorans boxer overcame Glasnevin's Emmet Shields on a 4-1 split decision in the other 35kgs semi.

In his quarter-final the previous weekend, Parke out-gunned Aidan Moore, also taking a UD verdict from the judges.

Earlier this year, Parke won his first Irish title when winning the Boy 3 35kgs final, beating Calvin Stokes of Olympic BC.

Previously, the Royal and Prior student lost out in two Irish finals.

There was no joy for Shaun Doohan of Dunfanaghy BC, who lost out on a 4-1 split in a 66kgs semi-final against St Francis' John Murray.

In a 48kgs quarter-final on Friday, Molly Lafferty of Twin Towns lost out to Lucy Prentice from Phoenix, who swept the boards to earn a unanimous decision.
