Scarlett Faulkner dies in hospital three weeks after Co Tipperary assault

Scarlett Faulkner, who was injured in a serious assault in Co Tipperary more than three weeks ago, has died, gardai say.

In a statement An Garda Siochana said the 29-year-old died in Cork University Hospital on Monday.

They say they are continuing to investigate the incident which happened on the evening of March 21 at Birdhill.

The coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination will take place.

A family liaison officer has been assigned to support Ms Faulkner’s family.

A woman in her 40s and a teenage girl arrested in connection with the incident were charged in late March.
