A 15-year-old Irish girl who had been the subject of a missing person appeal has been found "safe and well", gardaí have confirmed.

Megan O’Brien - described as being 5 foot 2 inches in height, with a slim build, dyed red hair and brown eyes - was reported missing from The Ward, Dublin 11 since Friday, February 13.

When last seen Megan was wearing a blue jacket with fur trimmed hood, black leggings and black runners.

Gardaí were "concerned for Megan's well-being" at the time of the appeal.

"An Garda Síochána would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance," a garda spokesperson said.
