Late Late Show viewers were left in stitches on Friday night after one guest delivered a string of laugh-out-loud moments during RTÉ’s annual GAA Special.
The special edition of The Late Late Show, hosted by Patrick Kielty, celebrated all things GAA with legends of the game, club families, and plenty of parish pride in the studio.
But it was impressionist Conor Moore’s appearance that quickly became one of the night’s most talked-about moments.
Sitting on the sofa beside the Brogans, the comedian opened with a flawless Kielty impression: “Well, good evening folks, and welcome now to the GAA special.
“I’m your host, Patrick Kielty, winner of an All-Ireland medal with County Down – but I don’t like to talk about it.”
The line set off applause and laughter from Kielty, the Brogans, and the whole audience.

Moore then seamlessly switched characters mid-segment, introducing “my next guest, ladies and gentlemen, Mr Tommy Tiernan”, before producing Tiernan’s trademark beanie from behind the sofa and launching into another uncanny impression.
As “Tommy”, Moore joked about being a lifelong GAA fan and professed his love for Dublin football, saying he was “a big fan of the Brogans”, before hilariously mixing up Bernard Snr and his sons, pointing at Alan Brogan and declaring: “Bernard Senior. This fella right here… You were absolutely fantastic, so you were.”
The Brogan family and studio audience erupted with laughter as Moore piled on the compliments, telling Bernard Snr he must be “very proud of the three lads - especially Alan down there at the end” while pointing in completely the wrong direction.
At home, viewers were just as impressed.
Social media lit up during and after the show, with one viewer declaring: “Conor Moore is a tonic.”
Another wrote: “@ConorSketches is simply brilliant. Superb impressions and jokes.”

“He’s stole the show so far,” one post read, while another summed it up with: “Conor Moore smashed it!!”
Viewers singled out his Tommy Tiernan impression in particular, with comments including: “His ‘Tommy Tiernan’ is spot on,” and “Brilliant! Has Tommy’s facial mannerisms down to a tee”.
Others praised his versatility with one viewer writing: “Conor can look and sound like anyone. That is a very good gift. And he’s a very funny person to put the smile on your face.”
The GAA Special also featured appearances from the Brogan family dynasty, Marty Morrissey, Laurita Blewitt, Cora Staunton, and live music, but for many watching at home it was Moore’s impressions and perfectly timed digs that proved the standout moment of the night.
