A GoFundMe has been set up to help the family of a 21-year-old Armagh man who has died in Australia just six months after emigrating there.

The death of Oran Marron at such a young age has left his community in Crossmaglen, Co Armagh, devastated. Oran died on Sunday, September 21, following a short illness at Sir Charle Gardiner Hospital, Perth, Australia surrounded by his loving family.

Oran's RIP.ie notice says he will be "deeply loved and remembered by his family, by his devoted and heartbroken mother Jacqui, his grandparents PJ and Stacey Marron, his aunt Amanda (Morgan), his uncle Martin, his godparents Sean and Denise, his cousins Annie, Shane (Rebekah) Eimear, Rian, Grace, Abbie & Erin extended family, and many friends in Ireland and Australia.

"Oran will be fondly remembered by all for his laughter and kindness."

A GoFundMe page set up to help cover funeral arrangements and travel expenses to bring Oran and his family home with him. The page says his death has "shocked our entire community."

It went on to explain: "Only six months ago, Oran left Crossmaglen and emigrated to Perth, Australia, full of hopes and dreams for his future. He was a much-loved son, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend whose kind heart, bright smile and caring nature touched the lives of everyone who knew him.

"No family should have to experience such tragedy, especially so far from home. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference and will be received with the deepest gratitude.

Tributes have been flowing for the hugely popular young man. One condolence on RIP.ie reads: "Our sincere condolences to Jacqueline and the entire Marron and Martin families on the death of your beloved Oran. I remember Oran so well from my time in St Patrick's. He was a pleasure to know. Oran stood out as a considerate, kind and helpful child, aways respectful, with a smile that would melt your heart."

Another person wrote: "As a mother of a son in Sydney my heart goes out to you Jacqui. I am so sorry for your loss. May your dear boy Oran get the best bed in heaven and watch over all his family and friends. Condolences to you all. RIP Oran."
