'So excited to meet our Baba' - GAA legend and wife share baby news from sun-soaked getaway

Mayo GAA hero Aidan O'Shea and wife Kristin McKenzie Vass have delighted fans by announcing they're expecting their first child together.

Kristin broke the news on Instagram while holidaying in Crete, posting glowing snaps of herself cradling her bump on the beach, with Aidan grinning alongside her in another with the sparkling blue sea in the background.

"So excited to meet our Baba," she wrote, sending followers into meltdown.

Famous friends were quick to pile in with congratulations.

Comedian Jarlath Regan said: "Congratulations lads", and Kilkenny hurling star TJ Reid's wife, Niamh de Brún, added: "Congratulations".

Multi-talented Mayo ace Sarah Rowe shared: "Congrats guys", while influencer Lisa Jordan commented: "Huge congrats."

The happy news is another milestone for the couple, who tied the knot last August in a lavish Kerry celebration that saw them make a show-stopping helicopter entrance to the Muckross Park Hotel.

Their wedding was one of the most talked-about GAA events of the year, with guests treated to a weekend of glamour, music and champagne celebrations.

Aidan and Kristin, who first met on a night out in Dublin, have been together since 2017 and endured a long-distance spell while she worked in London before moving back to Ireland. Over the years, the pair have built a life that blends Aidan's GAA stardom with Kristin's career and their private lives.

Since saying "I do", the newlyweds have jetted off on luxury getaways in Capri, the Maldives and Australia, packing in dream destinations before the arrival of their little one.

Now, their greatest adventure yet awaits as they prepare to welcome their baby in the months ahead, with fans already predicting the newest addition to the O'Shea family will be a future GAA star.
