The countdown is officially over and summer's favourite guilty pleasure is back as Love Island is set to return to Irish screens tonight, June 9. 

Promising yet another season of sun-soaked romance, unforgettable villa moments and of course, dramatic recouplings, fans all around the world, including here in Ireland, are gearing up to be glued to their televisions once again. 

So, what channel is Love Island on and how long is it running for?

The twelfth season of Love Island, hosted again by media personality Maya Jama, will begin on Monday, June 9 and is expected to run for approximately eight weeks. This is with the exception of Saturdays, in which live episodes aren't aired but instead, Love Island: Unseen Bits is. This programme gives an behind-the-scenes look into the villa. 

The beloved series will air from Monday to Friday and on Sundays at 9pm on Virgin Media Two. The show will also be available to watch on the Virgin Media Player the day-after for those who missed the live programme. 

Among the stars of the new cast are two of our own with Dublin actress Megan Forte Clark and Limerick rugby player Conor Philips gearing up for a summer of surprise bombshells and inevitable chaos.
