Aer Lingus announces new flights to Cancún and prices are cheaper than you think

Aer Lingus have announced the launch of its first ever direct flight to Cancún, Mexico which will start early next year.

Irish holidaymakers will be able to travel to the incredibly popular sunny destination without the hassle of any stopovers from 6 January 2026 to 29 April 2026.

The new direct route will operate from Dublin Airport to Cancún three times weekly on the Aer Lingus' A330-300 aircraft.  

The airline has revealed that flights to Cancún will be available from just €291 each which includes taxes, fees and carrier charges. 

Cancún has skyrocketed in popularity in recent years among Irish travellers with lots to explore such as its beautiful beaches as well as its rich culture and heritage.

Commenting on the announcement this Wednesday, Lynne Embleton, Aer Lingus Chief Executive Officer, said: "Our new direct route from Dublin to Cancún introduces a vibrant new destination to our network and further increases Aer Lingus’ winter sun offering.

"Our research highlights a strong appetite amongst customers for new travel experiences, particularly seasonal destinations beyond the peak summer period. Mexico, with its tropical climate, caters to the growing consumer demand for winter sun, while also offering a rich blend of history, culture, and cuisine."

Adding to this, Ambassador of Mexico to Ireland Carolina Zaragoza Flores said: "In a landmark moment coinciding with the significant 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mexico and Ireland, the Embassy of Mexico warmly welcomes the commencement of direct flights connecting our two nations."
