US fried chicken giant submits planning application for new store in Ireland

Following the news earlier in the week of huge US food chain, Taco Bell, making its way to Ireland, news is coming out that Popeyes Chicken will also be making its way to Ireland after a planning application has been submitted to Dublin City Council.

PLK Chicken Ireland Limited, who is under the umbrella of Popeyes Uk, submitted the planning application at the end of April.

Popeyes has almost 4,000 restaurants worldwide, with the closet to being in Belfast which opened its doors last year.

The location of the planning application is at 11-12 Westmoreland Street in Dublin.

The planning application is extensive and and includes a complete refurbishment of the building located at the address mentioned earlier.

There is currently no decision date set for the planning application by the Dublin City Council.
