A young driver has been killed in a three-car crash in Co Galway.
The incident happened on the R336 in Bearna at around 11.25pm on Sunday.
The driver of one of the cars, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was taken to the mortuary at University Hospital Galway, where a post-mortem examination is due to take place.
No other injuries were reported.
The road between Bearna and Na Forbacha remained closed on Monday morning to facilitate an examination by Garda forensic collision investigators.
Local diversions were in place and motorists were encouraged to take the N59 route.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses to come forward and for those with any footage, including dashcam footage, in the area at the time to make it available.
