An Garda Síochána are urging all motorists to slow down as temperatures drop and with Storm Herminia picking up, dangerous driving conditions can be expected.
In social media post shared by Kildare gardaí, it was revealed that four drivers were caught speeding on the N7 while road temperatures were just above freezing on Saturday night January 25.
All motorists received a €160 fine and three penalty points and gardaí warned: "Remember if you collect 12 points you get a bicycle and it's no fun cycling in this weather..."

Members of the public commented on the post reacting to the update, one person said: "They just don't get it!"
Another said: "142km/h is a mad crazy speed after the weather we had."
