BREAKING: Gardaí investigation underway following the discovery of a body in Sligo

The body was discovered around midday on St Stephen's Day

Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances around the discovery of a body, in the area of Hughes Bridge, Sligo town, on Thursday 26th December 2024 at approximately 12.40pm.

The scene was preserved for technical examination.

A post-mortem examination will take place in due course, the results of which will determine the course of the investigation. No additional information is available at this time.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.
