People have been left divided by an anonymous post on X by a person who reported their neighbour to the council over an extension.

The post was featured on the widely followed Fesshole X account where people send their anonymous confessions. They range from leaving the Christmas tree up all year to hiding on the in-laws.

One post has received a huge reaction when someone admitted to reporting their neighbour to the council over an extension they had not yet received planning permission for.

The post read: "Neighbour started building their extension before planning permission was approved. They've always been d**ks who frequently block my drive, so I grassed them up to the council. Planning permission denied and they're having to rip out what they put in already."

One reply labelled the anonymous poster "petty" while a second agreed, saying the poster was "only jealous" because they "can't afford to extend."

Others agreed with their actions with one person writing, "this would be even sweeter if the neighbours have a Range Rover," while another added, "great work."

In Ireland, you must apply for planning permission if building an extension to your house that adds more than 40 square metres.
