A lucky player somewhere in Galway is celebrating a life-changing windfall after becoming an overnight millionaire, having scooped €1,005,000 in the 'Ireland Only Raffle Draw'.
It was the second of four special draws taking place this month, with each one guaranteeing a winner of €1 million. The next EuroMillions special draw will take place on Friday, September 20, and the final €1 million prize will be up for grabs in the Lotto Plus Raffle Draw on Saturday, September 28.

Every player in Ireland who purchased a ticket for Friday's draw were automatically entered into the ‘Ireland Only Raffle’ with the unique Raffle number that appeared on their ticket. As with every EuroMillions draw, the ‘Ireland Only Raffle’ sees 10 raffle codes generated with each winning €5,000. One of these ten winners then had an additional €1 million added to their prize which resulted in the Galway player winning an even bigger prize than usual.
In addition to the big win in Galway, a Dublin player is also celebrating after winning the EuroMillions Plus top prize of €500,000. The Dublin player purchased their winning ticket on the day of the draw in Spar, Poppintree Parade, Balbutcher Road, Ballymun, and matched the following numbers in the EuroMillions Plus draw: 13, 14, 20, 31, 44.
The National Lottery is urging EuroMillions players in Galway and Dublin to check their tickets very carefully and if they are a winner, they are advised to sign the back of their ticket and to keep it safe. They should contact the prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for them to collect their prize in Lotto HQ.
Sarah Ruane, spokesperson for the National Lottery, says there is great excitement following Friday's wins.
“We’re thrilled to see two players take home such incredible prizes—one in Galway now €1 million richer, and another in Dublin with a fantastic €500,000 EuroMillions Plus win. It’s always exciting when we get to celebrate multiple big wins like this. For both winners, we recommend signing the back of your tickets, keeping them in a safe place, and contacting our Prize Claims Team as soon as possible. We can’t wait to welcome you to National Lottery HQ to collect your prizes and hear your stories.”
Ms Ruane added that over 52,000 players in Ireland won prizes in the EuroMillions and EuroMillions Plus draws on Friday night. As there was no winner of the main jackpot, Tuesday’s jackpot is set to roll to an estimated €40 million.
