Golfer Rory McIlroy has confirmed that he and his wife Erica Stoll will remain married after the divorce papers he filed in a Florida Court last month were voluntarily dismissed.
The Co Down golfer spoke to the Guardian on Tuesday night, and said: "There have been rumours about my personal life recently, which is unfortunate. Responding to each rumour is a fool’s game.
"Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realised that our best future was as a family together. Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning".
It has been reported that Court records in Palm Beach County in Florida show that a "notice of voluntary dismissal" was filed on Tuesday and the case status is listed as "closed".
In recent weeks, news broke that the player ranked no 2 in the world from Holywood, Co Down was to split from his wife of seven years.
