Man due in court after sub-machine gun, silencer and ammo seized in Dublin raid

The gun and ammunition were seized by Gardaí on Wednesday, where the man and a woman were arrested.

A man is due in court today following an investigation by the Gardaí on Wednesday which resulted in two arrests and the seizure of a firearm in Dublin.

A Skorpion sub-machine gun, silencer and ammo were seized in the Clondalkin raid, and the man in his thirties, as well as a woman in her thirties were arrested at the scene.

The woman who was arrested has since been released without charge. 

The man is due to appear before court at the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin this afternoon at approximately 4:30pm.

Gardaí attached to the Dublin Crime Response Team (DCRT) were engaged in the operation that was carried out as a result of a targeted intelligence led investigation.

Investigations are ongoing and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
