A man was set upon and assaulted by a gang at a Dart station in Dublin over the weekend, gardaí have confirmed.
An investigation has been launched after Gardaí in Howth received a report of an assault that occurred on the Station Road in Sutton, Dublin 13, at approximately 7pm on Saturday 11th May 2024.
What has been described as a shocking fight took place on the southbound platform of Howth Junction Dart Station at around 7pm on Sunday evening.
Footage of the incident in circulation shows the man being rushed at the platform by as many as eight other teens.
The incident only lasted only about 20 seconds but left the man bloodied with cuts along his arm.
The footage shows the man managing to push them away for a moment before getting punched in the head by one of the gang. The group then proceeds to kick and stamp on him as he lies on the ground.
Gardaí confirmed that a man in his 30s sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result of the assault.
"Investigations into the incident are ongoing," a garda spokesperson said.
