Students from Trinity College Dublin have set up an encampment for Palestine, protesting that their University should cut ties with Israel and support Palastine.

Following the on-going protest from students of the university, not only for the pro-Palestine demonstrations but also a series of demonstrations about tuition fees and rent, the university has fined its student union €214,285 as a result.

One of the main reason cited for the huge on the student was the blocking access to the huge tourist attraction kept on campus, The Book of Kells.

The entrance to The Book of Kells has been barricaded and will remain this way until the unverisity has cut all ties with Israel according to the Student union president. On X the student union President, László Molnárfi said this: "The Book of Kells is now closed indefinetly. No business as usual during a genocide. Trinity College Dublin cut ties with the genocidal state of Israel!"

The protests have gained lots of traction on social media, even with popular Irish podcaster, Blindboy tweeting: "Gowan Trinity."

The protests are set to continue around Dublin with the students awaiting response from the university.
