A man has died in a road collision in Dublin in what was the third fatal crash in Ireland in less than 24 hours.
The man, who was aged in his 60s, was the driver and sole occupant of a van that crashed on the Churchtown Road Upper in Dundrum at around 6.15am on Sunday morning.
No other vehicles were involved.
The man was declared dead at the scene.
Earlier on Sunday, a pedestrian was killed in a crash in Co Cork. The man, in his 40s, was struck by a car near Midleton in the early hours of Sunday.
The incident happened on the N25 eastbound at Water-Rock at around 1.30am. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. No-one else suffered serious injuries in the incident.
On Saturday evening a man in his 20s died following a motorcycle crash in Co Wicklow.
The motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries in the single-vehicle crash at around 6.30pm at Tombreane in Carnew. He was taken to Beaumont Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Garda Forensic Collision Investigators were tasked to examine the scenes of the three collisions.
Gardai have appealed for any witnesses to any of the fatal incidents to come forward.
