National: Gardaí confirm search for missing man stood down following discovery of body

A body was recovered in Waterford on March 7

Family members and gardaí concerned for wellbeing of missing 69-year-old man

Michal Piotrowski was missing since December

Gardaí have issued a tragic update on a man who had been missing since December. 

Following the discovery of the body in County Waterford, the missing person appeal for Michal Piotrowski has been stood down, gardaí confirmed on Friday night.

He had been missing since Tuesday, December 19, 2023.

He was last seen on the Dunmore Road in Ballynakill that morning at 11.40am. 

"An Garda Síochána would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance with this matter," a garda spokesperson said.

"No further media action is required and no further information is available at this time," they added.
