National: Man, 30s, faces court after firing gun outside village pub

A man is due in court after his arrest for shooting a gun outisde a pub in a Louth village.

Gardaí have said that on Saturday, February 3, 2024, in Collon, they "were alerted following an incident involving the discharge of a firearm outside a licensed premises."

There were no reported injuries at the time of the incident. A man in his 30s was arrested and a firearm was seized.

The man was detained under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939, at a Garda Station in County Louth. Subsequently, he has been released from the provisions of Section 30 and charged in connection with the case.

The individual is scheduled to appear before a special sitting of Dundalk District Court on Monday, February 5th, 2024, at 10:30am.
 
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
