One busy service station made someone a millionaire over the weekend, having sold a winning National Lottery Daily million ticket.
Monread Fare service station on Monread Road in Naas, Co Kildare was the location which sold the €1m winning ticket from the Daily Million 2pm draw on Sunday, January 28.
The newest National Lottery millionaire purchased their winning Quick Pick ticket on the day of the draw.
Store owner Liam Fitzpatrick was thrilled to hear that one of his customers now has a ticket worth a life-changing amount.
“This is by far the biggest ticket that we have ever sold. As soon as word gets out that we sold the winning ticket, I reckon we’ll see lots of our regulars and locals in to check their tickets. It’s great news for the community too and we are all delighted here in store. Fingers crossed the winner comes forward soon,” he said.
The Kildare winner, who has taken the title of second Daily Million top prize winner of 2024, is advised to sign the back of their ticket and to keep it safe. They should make contact with the National Lottery prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for them to collect their life-changing cheque in Lotto HQ.
Meanwhile, at Lotto HQ today a Kerry man realised his dreams to officially become the very first National Lottery millionaire of 2024 after he won the top prize of €1m in the Daily Million draw on Tuesday, January 23.
The Kerry player, who won the life-changing prize with a ticket he purchased online, said: “It was Tuesday night, so I actually played a EuroMillions ticket online. At around half eight that night, I received an email from the lottery to tell me that I’d won €4 in the EuroMillions draw.
“It was sitting there in the account so I thought I might as well buy a ticket for the Daily Million draw on the same night. Shortly after that draw at 9pm, I got another email from the Lottery but this time there was something different about it.
“I could never have prepared myself for the fright that I got when I seen that there was a €1 million prize on my ticket. It was such an incredible feeling.”
In the past week, three National Lottery players have become millionaires. While two Daily Million players in Kerry and Kildare won €1m each, an online player in Dublin became the first Lotto jackpot winner on Saturday night after scooping over €14.67m.
A National Lottery spokesperson said: “It has certainly been a life-changing week for three of our players nationwide.
“We were delighted to meet the Kerry Daily Million winner, who won their prize online, in Lotto HQ to collect their massive amount and we are hoping that the Kildare winner will follow suit and come forward soon.
“The Dublin winner, who is also the first Lotto jackpot winner of 2024, scooped the massive amount online and will have received a notification and email about the win. We are advising all of our online players in Dublin to carefully check their online accounts and take a look at their tickets from Saturday night to see if they have won the hugely life-altering amount.”
