A labrador from the Garda Dog Unit put on an impressive spectacle for trainees at the Garda College this week.
The dog, a K9 named Rex, visited the college in Templemore alongside his handler, Garda Pat Harrington.
Garda Harrington spoke to trainees attached to Intake 232 about the importance of the Garda Dog Unit, and told them stories of the great detections Rex and the now retired Laser have had during their careers.
In a video posted on Facebook, Rex can be seen racing trainees in a bid to find various drugs hiding spots:
Accompanying the video, the post states: "Another Good Boy came to visit us this week in the Garda College but this time in working mode.
"This clip shows a race between [four] trainees and Rex searching for various drugs hides. Rex was the only winner on the day and got his favourite tug of war ball as a reward!"
