IRELAND ranks as the second country in the world with the highest proportion of cryptocurrency enthusiasts.

Behind Slovenia in first place, Ireland comes in at second worldwide with a high population of people interested in trading in cryptocurrency.

Bitcoin alone was the subject of a monthly search volume close to 150,000. With Ireland’s population of 5m considered, the Irish searched related terms over 210,000 times monthly, at a rate of 4,193 per 100,000.

In comparison, Slovenia hit top spot on the list with the population most interested in researching cryptocurrency in the world.

With a population of only 2.1m, it reveals that Slovenians searched at a rate of 6,195 per 100,000 residents - the highest of all the countries that were measured.

In third was the United States, which boasts the largest number of searches for these cryptos. Bitcoin received an average monthly search volume of almost 10 million, while ethereum received close to 1.2 million monthly searches.

Others in the top ten were the UK and Australia. The study, conducted by Marketplace Fairness, analysed the volume of searches relating to ten cryptocurrencies, cryptocurrency exchanges, and blockchain platforms, to establish the countries where cryptocurrency enthusiasm is highest worldwide.
