A teenage girl has died after a collision with a car in Limerick on Wednesday.
The crash took place at 11.40pm in the Bank Place area of Limerick city.
The teenage pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was taken to University Hospital Limerick, where she died.
No other injuries were reported.
The road at Bank Place has been closed with local diversions in place. Forensic investigators are conducting an examination of the scene.
Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Any road users who have camera or dashcam footage and were travelling in the Bank Place area between 11pm and 11.45pm are being asked to hand this footage to gardai.
