A COMMUNITY garda whose impromptu performance of "Never Alone" during the world-renowned Willie Clancy Summer School in County Clare has created a stir online.
Ennistymon-based Garda Deirdre Scanlon was accompanied by a number of familiar faces, including singer Nathan Carter and well-known trad musician Sharon Shannon, when she took to the mic for her rendition during the festivities in the West Clare town of Miltown Malbay.

One of those who was impressed with Deirdre's singing is well-know RTÉ broadcaster Lorcan Murray who commented: "Fair play...well done Deirdre!"
