Gardai thank public as missing woman is located 'safe and well'

Marte Adibet Ayot had been reported missing

A WOMAN who was reported missing from her home in Limerick earlier this week has been located 'safe and well' gardai have confirmed.

A nationwide appeal for assistance was issued on Thursday evening in an effort to locate Marte Adibet Ayot (41) who had been missing from her home at Janesboro in the city since Tuesday.

Prior to the appeal being issued, gardai stated that Marte Adibet was last seen at Upper Gerald Griffin Street in the city centre on Wednesday evening.

Thankfully, she has now been located.

"Marte Adibet Ayo, who was reported missing from her home in Janesboro, Limerick since Tuesday July, 11 2023, has been located safe and well," a spokesperson stated this Friday morning.

Gardai have not disclosed how or where the 41-year-old was located.

They have thanked the public and the media for their assistance.
