Donegal County Council has issued warnings about black ice in some parts of the county

Mortiorsts in Donegal have been urged to drive with caution after overnight falls of snow in parts of the county.

Snow and ice has caused hazardous conditions for drivers on Friday morning.

Donegal County Council has issued warnings about black ice in some parts of Inishowen.

The local authority said there is black ice between Gleneely and Moville and on the roads between Buncrana and Burnfoot and Burnfoot to Muff and has urged motorists to drive with caution.

A Met Éireann status yellow warning for widespread frost and icy surfaces leading to hazardous travel conditions is in place until noon on Friday.
