Locals in the Glenswilly, Newmills, Cornwall and surrounding areas are being encouraged to take part in a community clean-up this weekend.

Anyone interested in helping out is asked to meet at Glenswilly GAA club grounds on Saturday, April 18, at 10:30am, where bibs, bags, litter-pickers and gloves will be distributed.

"I'd ask that anyone who has litter pickers and hi-vis vests from previous years bring them along with them, as pickers and vests are limited," Fianna Fáil’s Cllr Donal Mandy Kelly said.

“As always, there will be a skip provided at Glenswilly GAA Grounds to dispose of rubbish bags. Anyone that can't take the bags to the Skip, if you leave them along the road and give me a call with the location, I'll have a van and trailer lift them. Be great to see a great crowd out to keep our community tidy. Remember, folks, many hands make light work.”
